POST 7: CARRER-RELATED WEBSITE OR AN EXPERT ON YOUR FIELD

Even though the person I choose is not an expert on my field, it has a lot to do with it and has made very important contribution to Sociology. The person I choose is Angela Davis.

Angela Davis was born in USA in 1944 and is a philosopher, teacher, black activist and a Marxist politic. Se educated herself in University of California and then in the Berlin Humboldt University. In Germany, she was educated by Herbert Marcuse.

As I said before, she has done a lot of contributions to a lot of fields, however, her work focuses on racism and feminism, being Women, Race and Class, wrote in 1981, her most important book. In this work, she talks about the position of women of color in the society and also adds a Marxist point of view.

I like her because she has been a model to so many people in the world, including me. Personally, I consider myself Marxist so I´m really interested in reading her work. Besides, their analysis of the society and the place that women of color use is very thorough.
